The principle design considerations were that the system be relatively low cost, easy to configure and maintain, and fit in a small space, considerations common to the design of many similar systems. The paper also summarizes advances in cost/performance and ease of use since the first CAVE systems for each of the principle elements of an immersive environment system.&lt;br /&gt;
